Dr. Danielle Fraenkel is considered the founder of LivingDance, an organization focused on dance therapy. She formed the organization because of her personal experience of witnessing people with eating disorders. By using elements of dance, she helped the patients realize self-identity and awareness. After applying this concept with other concepts from fellow doctors, she developed LivingDance-LivingMusic. LivingDance points out the many different places in people's lives that can be improved with just simple movements and relaxation methods. Members will likely see a decrease in stress, a boost in self-confidence, a definition of boundaries, and even relationships with others. LivingDance uses common dance techniques to improve these many areas of member's lives as well as self-expression and functions. Creative and kinesthetic movements are combined in a variety of settings and environments to achieve physical improvements among members.
LivingDance stands out to me because of the active concern in health related topics in the member's lives. Mental illnesses, eating disorders, or confidence issues are all areas of interest to LivingDance which is shocking because most dance therapy institutions are solely focused on family and marital problems. It is comforting to know that people are coming to the realization that dance can not only help relationships but can also help lead to a longer, stronger, and healthier life.

I agree with this. I danced for 11 years and have personal experience that all of these considerations are true. Dancing provides an outlet for emotion and stress. It releases tension from the mind and changes the focal point. When dancing, you tend to forget anything else on your mind. And as for helping marital problems, dancing as a couple requires partnership and cooperation. Dancing forces the couple to listen to each other and work together. Overall, I find the LivingDance organization to be benefitial annd true to it's beliefs.
